The Second Wind Behavioral Health Services is a community-based organization dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use challenges and rebuild meaningful lives. We provide recovery-oriented, person-centered care focused on empowerment, respect, and individualized support.
Key Responsibilities As a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, you will:
Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders
Use your lived recovery experience to encourage, motivate, and inspire others
Assist clients in setting personal recovery goals and connecting with community resources
Support engagement in treatment programs and recovery services
Advocate for client needs in a respectful, recovery-focused manner
Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
Promote wellness, self-advocacy, and recovery-oriented thinking
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services
Qualifications
Active CRPA or CRPA-P certification (New York State required)
Lived experience in recovery and a strong passion for helping others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations
Comfortable working independently and within a team environment
Strong organizational and documentation skills (preferred)
